These new Lightweight Night Vision Devices Sacrificial Windows allow all systems to be utilized with their standard issue lens caps, without having to remove the sacrificial window. They also reduce the overall system weight by 10 grams on a binocular and 5 grams on a monocular, over that of the old sacrificial window design.
